The Schools Environment Programme

The Schools Environment Programme (SEP) is an island-wide programme coordinated by the Jamaica Environment Trust [www.jamentrust.org] and other parish-based non-governmental organisations. Using a whole-school approach involving stakeholders in and around the school, SEP explores environmental issues in schools through hands-on activities, promotes curriculum integration, and raises teacher awareness about environmental issues.

The Programme has 4 areas of emphasis:
· Managing Garbage
· Greening of School Grounds
· Starting/Strengthening an Environment Club
· Environmental Research
