Industrial Relations

The promotion of harmony at the workplace both within the school system and the Ministry’s civil service system is the mandate of this unit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liasing with all parties to bring about prompt settlement of industrial disputes
  • Participating in negotiations of salary claims
  • Circulating to relevant persons the agreement of claims
  • Ensuring that all items of the heads of agreements are implemented
  • Taking preventive action to avert industrial action where possible
  • Liaison with the Ministry of Finance and Planning, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and the Attorney General’s Department is essential.
